Volunteers are the heart of the Agape Garden, making it possible to donate nearly 10,000 pounds of fresh produce each year to support our community. Their time, energy, and dedication directly enable donations to the local food pantry and help ensure that families in need have access to healthy food. The mission of the garden wouldn’t be possible without dedicated volunteers!

During the growing season, the Agape Garden relies on volunteers to assist with planting, maintaining, and harvesting produce, which is donated to the Ankeny Service Center for distribution to those in need. Volunteers of all ages and experience levels are welcome, and families are encouraged to participate together. On-site leadership is always available to provide guidance and ensure a positive and organized experience.

Helpful Tips for Volunteers:

• Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated

• Dress appropriately for the weather (sunscreen, hats, etc.)

• Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes suitable for outdoor work
